Oil Sector Research Drop Could Hit Production
The oil sector has made few technological advances over the last 12 months as cuts to research and development budgets start to bite, says the London-based Energy Aspects. The think-tank says the result of this will eventually lead to higher costs as solutions to problems in upstream activities such as drilling in challenging locations has yet to be solved. It adds that decline rates in maturing fields will also rise.
