據普氏能源資訊2月16日新加坡報道，MEGlobal公司的一名官員16日在接受媒體記者采訪時表示，今年全球對乙二醇的需求量很可能增加110萬至120萬噸或增加4%至5%。

　　總部設在迪拜的這家大型公司負責商業和供應鏈的副總裁林格?梁說，2015年全球乙二醇需求估計在2570萬噸，其中中國占到總需求量的一半或1285萬噸。

　　由陶氏化學公司和科威特石化工業公司（PIC）組建的合資企業MEGlobal每年銷售250多萬噸乙二醇。

　　乙二醇是制造用于服裝和紡織品的聚酯纖維、聚對苯二甲酸乙二醇酯樹脂、防凍劑和其他工業產品的原料。

　　Global demand for monoethylene glycol is likely to increase 1.1 million-1.2 million mt or 4%-5% this year, a MEGlobal official said in an interview Monday.

　　Ringo Leung, vice president for commercial and supply chain for the major Dubai-based producer, said 2015 global demand was an estimated 25.7 million mt, with China accounting for 12.85 million mt or half of it.

　　MEGlobal markets over 2.5 million mt/year of MEG.

　　The product is used as a raw material in making polyester fibers for clothing and textiles, polyethylene terephthalate resins, antifreeze and other industrial products.
